Overview of the role
We are seeking a skilled Android Developer to join our team and focus on the development and enhancement of /e/OS default applications. In this role, you will work on a variety of applications, some of which are forks from the open-source community. Your mission will be to improve their functionality, performance, and integration with /e/OS, while ensuring a seamless user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain /e/OS default apps, focusing on privacy, performance, and usability.
- Work with forks of open-source apps, merging upstream changes and optimizing for /e/OS.
- Use GitLab CI/CD to automate testing and deployment.
- Collaborate via GitLab and participate in code reviews.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Android development (Kotlin/Java/ Jetpack Compose).
- Understanding of Android architecture principles guidelines.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD (or similar) and open-source projects.
- Passion for privacy, security, and user-centric design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology.
- Passion for open-source development and innovation.
