SEA / SEO Specialist for Murena

We’re looking for a motivated data-driven SEA / SEO Specialist to help us grow Murena’s visibility and reach more people looking for privacy-respecting technology.

We are looking for someone who’s confident with managing paid-search and organic-search performance across platforms that promote privacy and other ethical technology aspects, like open source and sustainbility. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys combining strategy, experimentation, technical understanding, and clear reporting.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimise paid-search campaigns across relevant advertising platforms.(e.g. privacy-focused or sustainable search engines like Startpage, DuckDuckGo, Qwant, Ecosia, Microsoft and/or other platforms that are about ethical technology like specific sub-reddits on Reddit).
  • Conduct keyword research and build campaigns that match user intent across Murena smartphones, /e/OS, Murena Workspace, and business offerings.
  • Monitor budgets, bids, search terms, audiences, and campaign performance to improve qualified traffic, conversions, and return on ad spend. (Conversions are monitored in a privacy-safe manner with Matomo).
  • Develop and execute SEO strategies, including on-page optimisation, content briefs, keyword mapping, internal linking, and technical SEO recommendations.
  • Work with our content, design, development, and Shop teams to make sure new pages and campaigns are search-friendly and conversion-focused.
  • Analyse website and campaign performance using analytics; turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Identify growth opportunities in new markets, languages, and product categories.
  • Keep up with search-engine and advertising-platform changes, while respecting Murena’s privacy-first values.

Must-Have Skills

  • Proven experience managing SEA/PPC campaigns, ideally for e-commerce, SaaS, consumer technology, or comparable digital products.
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, technical SEO, and link-building best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Ads, Linkedin Ads, Reddit Ads, and/or other relevant advertising platforms.
  • Comfortable working with Analytics, Search Console, or comparable analytics tools.
  • Ability to interpret performance data and communicate results clearly.
  • Excellent written English and professional working proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of privacy-focused advertising alternatives and privacy-friendly or sustainable analytics tools.
  • Experience in conversion-rate optimisation, landing-page testing, or product marketing.
  • Familiarity with the open-source, privacy, mobile, or consumer-electronics ecosystem.

Soft Skills

  • Experience with WooCommerce or WordPress websites.
  • Experience with Matomo.
  • Familiarity with multilingual and international SEO.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new needs for the project.

About the Team
